BigTine Ranch, a high fence Whitetail haven nestled just outside Cooperstown, New York, holds some of the Northeast's largest and healthiest Whitetail deer. This Whitetail preserve offers a diverse landscape of ridges, valleys, agricultural fields, food plots, and expansive switchgrass. Designed by an avid archery hunter with strategically placed blinds and elevated perches for trophy Whitetails and turkeys, BigTine Ranch started offering rifle hunts in 2024, while maintaining our commitment to providing a "World Class Experience in Pursuit of World Class Trophy Whitetails."
This is not a guaranteed Whitetail hunt, and not a typical high fence preserve. Some magnificent bucks have proven their elusiveness for years proving that the pursuit of a trophy Whitetail deer at BigTine is an unforgettable adventure.

Hunt Packages

Our Hunting Packages were created using a simple cost structure without hidden fees. We do not use the industry standard “fees by the inch” and allow the flexibility to upgrade your hunt package while on the hunt. Our limited numbers of hunters each year, coupled with our large acreage, allows us to keep a feeling of privacy and fair chase to our hunts. We hunt only mature Whitetails and focus on what the property has been designed for - hunting. Don’t be misled with the thought that harvesting a Whitetail here will be easy. Our property allows our Whitetail to behave as if they are in the wild. We do not hunt over feeders and there are limited number of hunts available.

All hunts include lodging, meals, guide and license/tag. A $2500 deposit is due by March 1st. Deposits are non-refundable. Shipping of the cape, antlers or meat are not included in the cost of the hunt. New York State sales tax is not included in the cost of the hunt and while staff gratuities are always welcome, and greatly appreciated, they are at your sole discretion.

What Sets Our High Fence Preserve Apart

If you are looking for a canned or guaranteed Whitetail hunt, BigTine Whitetails is not for you.

Although we do have monster Whitetails on the property, we take pride in making this hunt a challenge for the hunter.

Monster Hunt Package

Giant mature Whitetails with drop tines, stickers, kickers and a serious attitude, these Whitetails are the kings of the woods and make their mark leaving scrapes that amaze. A typical Monster Buck will score 180" and above.

Fanatic Hunt Package

Our most popular hunt! Designed with the serious hunter in mind, expect to hunt mornings, evening and all day should you choose. All hunts are upgradeable to a Monster Hunt on the spot. So, when you see that Monster Whitetail that you just can’t let walk away, your guide will immediately give you either the thumbs up or down. Simply let it fly and pay the additional hunt fee. Fanatic Bucks tend to run in the 150"-175" score range.

Management Hunt Package

Don’t be fooled by the name, this isn’t a walk in the park. You will hunt a serious Whitetail that we have determined needs to leave the herd to allow for our superior genetics to flourish. The bucks in this category will usually run between 120-150 inches. Expect to hunt mornings and evenings with a focus on evening hunting over food sources. This time of year, the Whitetails are bedded close to their food source and are slightly more predictable making evening hunts over food our preferred method. Food is what is first and foremost on the Whitetails’ mind during this time period.

Rifle Hunts

For our Rifle Hunts we split the week into two sessions and run until around the end of December. You will hunt the afternoon of your arrival day and the morning of your departure day with two full days of hunting in between. There are a limited number of hunts available and they are on a first reserved basis.

Archery Hunts

While archery season in NY starts on October 1^st, we typically start our hunting the last two weeks of the month. We have found that this offers our archery hunters the best opportunity to tag a mature Whitetail. Expect to hunt both morning and evening, but all-day hunts are available should you choose.

Archery hunting is typically done from either high-quality hang on stands or ladder stands with an occasional ground blind when necessary. The wind drives our hunting location choice for the day. All our sets are inspected annually for safety and comfort so you can sit all day if you prefer.

Archery hunts are 5 days in length.
